A Tribute to Pandit Bhimsen Joshi

I reached my office today and heard the news that the greatest soul rest in peace today (24-Jan-2011) morning 8 am.... and it's very sad to know... and i started remembering many things related to him... his voice.. his personality.. his devotion to singing.. everything is so mesmerizing and unmatchable.... i remember the  first time i landed in Pandharpur (the Kashi of Maharashtra) and the songs playing in the nearby shops of Vitthal Temple... Most of those songs were sung by him.... and I come to know about Bhimsenji... All his devotional songs are unforgettable... and we just want to listen those songs in his voice only... We can meet God though his voice...

Then i listen to the song 'Mile Sur Mera Tumhara' on national TV... and the songs are just just unforgettable...

If you see him performing live... u can see every bit of his body singing... his devotion, Abhangs (Bhajans) sung by him are the greatest treasures not only to Maharashtra but to the whole world of music..... We can witness the greatest emotion of devotion/happiness in his voice.... even today you visit Pandharpur and you will here his voice in the air... 

Even the word Magic is less to define his work... or may be no word or words can define his singing... some things are just so simple and divine....  A genius... God let him rest in peace..
